My White Baby Blouse

I love creating unique pieces, and this beautiful baby blouse is one of my favorites. I knit it with a lovely white sateen yarn, and the finished piece feels incredibly soft and drapes beautifully.

How I Made It

The blouse is knit from the arms down, which is a really fun way to construct a garment. I began by casting on stitches for the first arm, then increased stitches on the underside every six rows to create the shaping. Once the arm was long enough, I continued to increase until I had the desired width for the body. I then bound off the stitches for the body section and began working on the second arm, decreasing in the same way I increased on the first.

After both sides were complete, I seamed the undersides of the arms and the body to create the blouse. For a decorative finish, I crocheted chain stitches to join the top of the arms. Now, the blouse is ready! I hope this project inspires you to start your own.
